The Problem with TR3 was that you had to go through the same puzzle 4 times to see all endings which got tiresome after the 2nd time (still worth it though), and a lot of the player's time was devoted to the final hint-free puzzle across multiple rooms, which dragged on with these slow transitions between rooms (remember the elevator?). There is no "fat" in Old Sins, it's way more intuitive. I have to say that while I loved the different endings in TR3, I enjoyed the more linear approach of Old Sins, since it was more focused.
